In the foreground is the personification of Summer: an adult man, crowned with a wreath of corn. In his hands he holds several ears of corn. In the background are summer scenes: farmers haying and harvesting; sheep being washed and sheared and a shepherd with his sheep. Above in the sky are the three astrological signs of summer: Cancer, Leo and Virgo. The print has a Latin caption and is part of a four-part series on the four seasons.
