Amid several statesmen, the naked Apollo stands on a pedestal as ruler of the arts of government. He holds a bow and arrow in his hands and rests against a trunk along which a snake winds upwards. Around Apollo, several statesmen have gathered with their advisers. In the centre of the foreground is a chained monkey. On the right in the sky we see the symbol of the constellation lion. The print is part of a series of seven representations called the planetary gods.
