The evangelist Luke sits on the back of a winged bull, his attribute. On his lap is a thick book; in his right hand he holds a quill. The adoration by the shepherds in the stable can be seen in the background on the right; on the back left, the three crosses on Mount Golgotha are depicted, with Mary and John under the cross. Below the representation is a two-line text in Latin.
