Au premier plan, les Israélites creusent les puits que les Philistins avaient fermés par jalousie. À l'arrière-plan gauche, les serviteurs d'Isaac découvrent une source d'eau claire. Isaac s'assoit sur une pierre et discute avec l'un des bergers à qui appartient la source trouvée (Gn 26,18).
