In 1822, some hunters founded the association "Société Saint Hubert pour l'Amélioration des races canines en Belgique". Three years later, they received a royal title. From the time of its foundation, a pedigree book of the Saint Hubert dog was kept. The certificates of pedigree issued by the "Société Royale Saint Hubert" are recognised worldwide. The Saint-Hubert dog is originally a Belgian breed whose main characteristic is its long ears, as Devreese faithfully reproduces here.
