Gallery E: Imagine(d) Nature

Belmundo festival

Exhibition
03.03 – 05.06.22

Clara Voortman, 'Cap d’Antibes (Côte d’Azur)', 20th century, MSK Gent.

From 3 March to 5 June 2022 the MSK will co-host the Belmundo Festival, a carnival of activities in Ghent celebrating international solidarity. As part of the festival, the exhibition ‘Imagine(d) Nature’ will take place in Gallery E, and we invite everyone to visit and take a fresh a look at the art in our collection. We don't just focus on how nature is depicted in our art, but also give it a voice of its own and consider the world from its perspective. A self-guided tour and a variety of activities inspire people to stand in Mother Nature’s shoes and to think about both her past and her future.

Imagine(d) Nature
The exhibition in Gallery E immerses visitors in the natural theme, presenting informative texts as well as poetry created in collaboration with the association for written and spoken-word poetry Auw La. We encourage you to engage in dialogue and discussion by providing cue cards that will spark conversations about the art of nature. Drawing cards are available for anyone who feels inspired to unleash their own creative impulses.

‘Artful Nature'
The self-guided ‘Artful Nature’ route leads visitors through the entire museum, shedding new light on collection pieces and opening up new perspectives on the fascinating natural scenes in our collection.
