With this painting, De Noter won first prize in the still-life painting competition of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent, 1829; Salon of Ghent, 1829, no. 38, 39 or 40. She exhibited anonymously in the Concours de Peinture, with the theme Fleurs et fruits.
