Father Time and Death thrust the representatives of ancient cultures into an abyss. The gods attempt to save ancient art treasures. Mercury lifts a Roman statue from a pit, Hercules passes a basket of ancient coins and Minerva helps a man take delivery of the basket. In the centre is a bust depicting the personification of the Antiquities, with laurel wreath and book.
