Jean-Pierre Camus (1584-1652) was a French bishop, preacher and author of fiction and religious publications. He was a friend of St Francis de Sales, the author of a large number of satirical bon mots, the pious and fervent bishop of Bellay, who refused the diocese of Arras and Amiens and preferred to die in the hospice of the Incurables in Paris, is depicted almost with the face de face and decorated with the pastoral cross, in an octagonal border.
