In an interior of a classical temple, Hamilcar and his son Hannibal kneel before a statue with three heads. On the right, a priest makes an offering while others look on. Contrary to what the engraved caption suggests, the print was not made after a painting by Theodoor Rombouts, but after a work by Caspar Netscher.
