The winged Fame (Fama) blows her two trumpets. Thus, she proclaims the fame of lords of the field and philosophers of the past. In her procession walk Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Cato and Plato. The wheels of her chariot are decorated with tongues, ears and eyes to spread fame. Fame overcomes Death; he is miserably crushed under the elephants' paws. In the background are two obelisks, monuments erected in honour of famous people.
