In the foreground in a forest landscape sits Saint Leonard of Noblac, an early Christian hermit. He sits against a tree and reads. Behind him can be seen the Marian chapel he founded in Limoges. Next to the chapel, a monk is burying something. In the background, the meeting between him and King Clovis takes place in a forest.
