Judah has the fire lit to burn his daughter-in-law Tamar. He wants to punish her because she behaved like a harlot and became pregnant as a result. However, Tamar shows him his staff and signet ring, proving that he got her pregnant. Then Judah acknowledges that he is guilty and Tamar is not.
