Renato Brozzi specialised in animal engraving. At the Brussels World Fair, he exhibited sixteen plaques, all depicting farm animals such as cows, turkeys, sheep, pigs, etc. Three years later, nineteen more of the same designs were exhibited at the Ghent Fair. Three years later, nineteen more designs from this series followed at the Salon in Ghent. The turkey on this plaque is particularly realistically depicted and bears witness to great craftsmanship: the turkey is turned to the left with its feathers open, with two other turkeys and farm buildings in the background.
