The French Rowing Federation was founded in 1890. On the obverse side, the plaque depicts a rowing boat with two rowers and an attendant. The reverse side, which is presented separately, shows the winner being awarded a laurel wreath. The French engraver Jean-Paul Aubé exhibited this plaque at the Salon de la Medaille during the World Fair in Brussels in 1910.
