Adolf von Guttenberg received his education at the Royal Academy in Chemnitz and entered state service from 1862. Between 1877 and 1912, he taught business studies at the Vienna University of Applied Sciences and was rector there twice. This portrait plaque was presented to him by friends and acquaintances on the occasion of his 70th birthday in 1909.
