Jean Gody, a native of Verviers, initially worked in the railways before taking up a military post and then a post at the telephone and telegraph. His great passion, however, was organising International Exhibitions. From 1876, he was a member of the executive committee at all major expos. This portrait medal was presented to him for his participation in the 1910 Brussels World's Fair. The copy present here has no text on the reverse unlike other copies.
