Emile Dupont did his university studies in Liège. He joined the Bar in 1858, was a three-time president of the Bar and eventually became president of the Federation of Belgian Lawyers from 1905 to 1908. Besides a career as a lawyer, Dupont was also active as a liberal deputy (1864-1890), senator and finally minister of state in 1907. On the 50th anniversary of his joining the Bar, he was presented with this medal.
