This portrait appeared at the Paris World Exhibition in 1867; it was again exhibited at the Hotel Errera in Brussels at an exhibition in favour of a Dutch work; it appeared at the exhibition of De Winne's work, which took place at the Cercle Artistique et Littéraire in Ghent, after the artist's death; finally, it appeared at the retrospective exhibition for the 75th anniversary of Belgian independence in 1905 and was reproduced in the catalogue.
